Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Speech-Language Therapist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in assessing and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in children and adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with speech, language, and communication disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans to promote optimal communication and swallowing skills.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including medical, surgical, and social history, to identify areas of need and develop targeted interventions.
  • Implement evidence-based therapy interventions, including speech, language, and swallowing therapy, to address a range of disorders, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, and voice disorders.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records, including initial evaluations, re-evaluations, daily notes, and discharge notes.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to the growth and development of the department and profession.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Licensure in Speech Pathology-Michigan or temporary license during the CFY.
  • Experience working with children and adults with neurological speech and language disorders, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, and voice disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
