Job Summary

At Hardin Medical Center, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the Nursing Home program activities for the residents, ensuring a high-quality experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and assist in group activities, promoting socialization and engagement among residents.
• Conduct in-room activities with room-bound residents, providing personalized attention and care.
• Transport residents to and from activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Assist with special events, including event setup, takedown, and cleanup, and prepare and grill food as needed.
• Complete errands for the Activities Coordinator, including making trips to local stores for supplies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous work experience with the elderly in a healthcare environment is preferred.
• Active CNA licensure (Tennessee) is preferred, and a valid TN driver's license is required.
• Ability to drive the facility van and transport residents safely.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking are required.
• Must be able to see with corrective eye wear and hear clearly with assistance.
• May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases, and must be able to handle emergency and/or crisis situations.
• Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests, including random and reasonable suspicion drug screens.

Working Conditions

• The Activity Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with residents, staff, and visitors regularly.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
• Must be able to adapt to changing situations and priorities, and be flexible in scheduling and duties as needed.
