Job Summary

This part-time position is responsible for ensuring Savannah Technical College meets all criteria as a Training Center for the American Heart Association. The Training Center Coordinator will work closely with faculty and staff to coordinate teaching activities, develop course schedules, and provide instructor training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer courses provided by the Training Center, aligned instructors, and Training Sites.
  • Manage the Training Center, Training Sites, and instructors.
  • Provide timely communication of new or updated information to aligned instructors and Training Sites.
  • Support and quality control for AHA ECC Instructors aligned with the Training Center.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and teach BLS certification, recertification, and skills checks.
  • Maintain records and ensure compliance with AHA requirements.
  • Secure and distribute course completion cards and exams.
  • Maintain STC's AHA Training Center status.
  • Schedule, coordinate, design, and implement AHA courses.
  • Maintain records of AHA instructors affiliated with STC's AHA Training Center.
  • Provide updates to the training network.
  • Maintain adequate course equipment and supplies.
  • Conduct quality assurance & improvement assessments.
  • Ensure instructors are monitored yearly.
  • Submit training reports and AHA requests.
  • Complete TC administrative Self-Review.
  • Compile attendance and course data reports.
  • Complete and submit application for EMT and Paramedic credits.
  • Complete and submit post program data to Georgia Department of Public Health.
  • Maintain AHA instructor files.
  • Issue instructor cards.
  • Manage instructor alignment on Atlas.
  • Ensure STC's AHA Training Center is compliant with AHA and STC policies.
  • Coordinates and participates in the Training Center's site reviews.
  • Maintain a networking relationship with other TC's.
  • Manage instructors, training sites, and course rosters.
  • Submit pay documentation and payments.
  • Complete and forward the TC Activity Report.
  • Maintain qualifications for employment.
  • Follow rules and regulations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of work-related experience.
  • Two years' experience as a Basic Life Support instructor.
  • Strong organizational skills, teaching ability, interpersonal and interprofessional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in working with computer systems.
  • Proficiency in MS software applications.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree.
