POSITION SUMMARY:

The objective of this role is to assist in research activities, which include coordinating tasks with the Principal Investigator and lab members, executing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and preparing summaries for scientific presentations and publications. The role will involve the creation of sophisticated 2D co-cultures and 3D in vitro models utilizing human cell cultures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct experiments employing DNA, RNA/transcriptomics, RT-PCR, and protein analysis techniques such as Western blotting and immunofluorescence for molecular mechanistic and translational toxicology studies.
  • Perform cell culture and biochemical experiments, including fundamental tissue culture methods, protein isolation from tissues and cells, and immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence.
  • Assess new technologies and instruments, leading to recommendations for innovative screening methods and assay formats.
  • Assist in the development of advanced complex 2D co-cultures and 3D in vitro models of the female reproductive tract using human cell cultures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to trainees and laboratory personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field is required.
  • Experience with primary cell culture, 2D co-cultures, 3D in vitro models, and immunohistochemistry is essential.
