Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Attorney to join our team at the Georgia Workers' Compensation Board. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law and excellent communication skills.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing the rules and regulations of the Workers' Compensation Law, deterring fraud through education, public relations, and investigations, and litigating cases in hearings before the Board's Administrative Law Judge.
They will also serve as the Board's liaison with the Attorney General's office for the collection of Board-imposed fines and penalties, and represent the Board as needed on committees, in meetings, and at training events.
Salary Range:
$70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
Requirements:
- Completion of a law degree and license to practice law in the State of Georgia or eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination;
- Juris Doctorate in a related area from an accredited college or university and license to practice law in the State of Georgia or eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination followed by Georgia Bar exam passage and licensure to practice law in the State of Georgia within one (1) year of hiring or reciprocity;
- Three (3) years of relevant legal experience; or three (3) years of experience required at the lower-level Attorney 3 position.
