Your Role:

As an Industrial Safety Specialist, you will:

  • Conduct thorough research, analyses, and evaluations of industrial systems and facilities related to chemical production, refining, or R&D.
  • Support or validate safe operational policies and procedures, along with generating reports and specialized documentation.
  • Research and determine Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL) for new materials and assess Hazard Classification for end products.
  • Review product designs to ensure safety compliance.
  • Devise safety plans and procedures pertinent to processes and equipment.
  • Facilitate or coordinate training for personnel on safety regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and the use of safety equipment.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
  • Recommend strategies for the detection, prevention, and elimination of physical, chemical, or other hazards.
  • Assess potential risks or damages arising from product misuse.
  • Investigate industrial incidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to ascertain causes and report findings.
  • Develop corrective actions to address safety and occupational health inspection violations stemming from incidents.
  • Verify and validate the effectiveness of implemented corrective measures.

Your Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in safety engineering.
  • Experience in training and regulatory interpretation and implementation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Occupational Health.
  • Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification.
  • Navy Principal for Safety (PFS) Certification.
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification.
  • Safety and Health Fundamentals Certification from the OSHA Training Institute.
