Land Survey Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Project Manager to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our Survey/Geospatial team, you will be responsible for managing and directing the work efforts of assigned staff, coordinating technical and managerial direction, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Manage and direct the work efforts of assigned staff, ensuring timely and within-budget project delivery.
- Technical Direction: Coordinate technical and managerial direction provided by Management, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and budget are met.
- Work Planning: Prepare effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval by Department Manager.
- Quality Control: Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
- Team Oversight: Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects, striving to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
- Business Development: Participate in formulating and coordinating proposals, and provide other Marketing support, including Business Development.
- Project Coordination: Identify the project team, work packages, and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables, and manpower needed on projects.
- Client Communication: Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules, subject to supervisors' approval.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates.
- Scope Management: Ensure that all scope revisions affecting the project schedule and/or budget are discussed with the client, and that all out-of-scope work and associated fees are approved by the client prior to performing the services.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices, and enhancing corporate objectives.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Surveying Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent technical and management experience.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in Land Surveying required.
- Skills: Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3d and Trimble Business Center preferred. NY State Professional Land Surveyor License preferred.
- Language: Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
