Job Title: Assistant Procurement Manager

Gray Construction is seeking an experienced Assistant Procurement Manager to join our team in Lexington, KY. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, developing and maintaining strategic relationships with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Design and Project Management teams to ensure procurement scope is met.
  • Support project teams in fulfilling Gray's procurement responsibilities.
  • Implement and execute best practices in procurement.
  • Solicit and review vendor proposals, evaluating specifications, payment terms, warranty, services, and price.
  • Negotiate pricing and make recommendations for suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors, establishing master purchase order agreements.
  • Manage risk related to cost, guarantees, warranty, and supply of purchases.
  • Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to establish and implement purchasing terms and conditions.
  • Evaluate contracts to ensure compliance with commercial requirements and organizational policies.
  • Review purchase orders for proper authorization and compliance with organizational policy and procedures.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Ensure all equipment is purchased and delivered within budget, time constraints, and monitor ongoing compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
  • Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, CMIC, Building Connected, or Bluebeam is a plus.
