Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated Fire Alarm Service and Installation Technicians to enhance our team.

Compensation range: $30 - $56 /hr. based on relevant skills, experience, licenses, and certifications.

As a Fire Alarm Service & Installation Technician, your primary responsibilities will include the installation, programming, and maintenance of fire alarm panel systems, ensuring that all systems and equipment operate according to their intended specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fire alarm commissioning to verify that systems and equipment function according to specifications.
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, programming, and repairs, alongside the installation, inspection, testing, and servicing of low voltage life safety products and fire alarm systems.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, relaying information to the appropriate personnel for follow-up, quotes, inquiries, or concerns.
  • Identify and rectify code and non-conformance issues in accordance with standards.
  • Document and maintain detailed work reports and service tickets.
  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and product manuals to accurately program and verify systems.
  • Provide customer training on proper device usage, preventative maintenance, and care to avert future system issues.
  • Assess customer sites for additional equipment and services that may be needed.
  • Discuss any noted deficiencies with clients, explaining the issues and their resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Fire Alarm Service Technician.
  • At least 2 years' experience as a journeyman low voltage electrician.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • NICET II Fire Alarm Systems certification or higher preferred.
  • EL-O6 (Limited Energy Technician) Electrical License required.
  • Experience with EST Fire Alarm Panel programming is a plus.
  • Familiarity with NFPA Standards (including 70 and 72) and local AHJ requirements is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Working Environment:

  • May involve working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasional work in high or precarious locations; exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Noise levels are generally moderate.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of toolboxes, tools, equipment, parts, cabling, and wiring.
  • Must be able to push or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent ladder climbing, often while carrying up to 50 pounds.
