Technical Design Assistant

Job Summary:
Management Business Solutions is seeking an experienced Assistant Technical Designer to join our team. As an Assistant Technical Designer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design team in creating high-quality technical designs for our children's cut & sew knits products.
Responsibilities:
• Generate computerized specification packages and maintain all tech packs for accuracy, completeness, quality, affordability, and compliance.
• Review and evaluate samples for spec, pattern shape, and construction, and organize fittings accordingly.
• Take detailed fit notes in each fitting to ensure proper fit and provide fit comments and spec updates to the factories in a timely manner.
• Perform pattern corrections where needed and send out corrected patterns, ensuring all components and constructions used are compliant with Childrenswear guidelines.
• Maintain fit standards, records, and samples, and help to organize and file samples by season and factory.
• Utilize digital photos, technical sketches, detailed instructions, and comments from fit sessions to communicate corrections and maintain consistency in fit across all apparel categories.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in Technical Design, with knowledge of Childrenswear guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment.
• Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks at once, with ability to work independently and meet multiple deadlines.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments, vendors, and overseas offices, with an adaptable mindset and ability to switch gears as needed.
• Takes initiative for product categories and follows up on sample requirements as needed for each individual account, meticulously reviewing and prepping samples for customer approval, and analyzing and comparing competitive brands to create specific fits.
