Technical Designer

The Technical Designer plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful development and production of garments at Basic Resources. This position is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the design process, from concept development to production-ready garments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of seamless knit, cut and sew knit garment construction of Women's Intimate Apparel (bras and underwear for average and full-figure fits)
  • Collaborate with the technical design director and designers to develop tech packs, create specs / construction sheets for proto & fit samples utilizing blocks and reference samples
  • Accurately measure and examine Concept/Fit/PP/TOP garments from factories into software and prepare for scheduled fittings
  • Take detailed notes and efficient photos during live and mannequin fit sessions
  • Identify construction and workmanship issues and ensure consistent standards are met within each product category
  • Make logical and accurate fit corrections and spec revisions via sketches and marked up photos to send to overseas factories
  • Possess knowledge of patternmaking and pattern correction, knowledge of foam cup development
  • Maintain daily entry on sample log in AirTable
  • Ability to adhere to calendar and deadlines
  • Have strong communication skills, be able to properly communicate and collaborate with vendors, direct team, and cross functional teams
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Track & Manage samples with factories in addition to all communication
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience in intimate apparel technical design
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Airtable, and Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience with Centric or similar PLM. 3D pattern experience a plus Browzwear and V-Stitcher
  • Ability to multitask, have a high sense of urgency and work accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of sewing and factory processes, and clear understanding of fit & grading
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Team player, collaborative attitude

Annual salary range starting at $85,000

The disclosed salary range is commensurate with experience and does not reflect the total compensation package. Our associates have access to other valuable benefits that our Human Resources team is happy to share with candidates during the interview process.
