Job Title: Medical Physicist

US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in the design, optimization, and delivery of radiation treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement radiation treatment plans, ensuring accurate and precise delivery of radiation therapy.
  • Collaborate with physicians to provide technical guidance and support to radiation therapy staff.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in clinical instruction and training of radiation therapy staff and students.
  • Assume leadership roles in the development and implementation of new technologies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Post-doctoral degree in Physics from an accredited college or university or Masters.
  • Minimum three to five years' experience in radiation physics.
  • Current certification in field by American Board of Radiology or Board of Medical Physics.
  • Must obtain and maintain certification and valid state license for medical physics as required.
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent contact with staff and patients. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical information to non-technical staff and patients.

The successful candidate will be able to stand for 8 hours, lift 40 pounds, and have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish structures and isodose displays on computer monitors. Additionally, the candidate will be able to align treatment fields and monitor patients during radiation therapy treatment.
