Job Overview

UCLA Health is seeking a skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Oncology team. As a leading academic medical center, we are dedicated to delivering world-class care to our patients. Our department uses cutting-edge radiation therapy techniques and technologies to provide exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in IMRT, SBRT, and 3D conformal radiotherapy planning. They will work closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists to support treatment simulation, quality control, and participate in departmental quality initiatives and process improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Handle SBRT, IMRT, 3D conformal, total body irradiation, and HDR brachytherapy treatment planning
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists to support treatment simulation and quality control
  • Participate in departmental quality initiatives and process improvements
  • Operate radiotherapy equipment, including linear accelerators, cobalt teletherapy units, simulators, osimetric equipment, brachytherapy equipment, computerized treatment planning systems, and record and verification/patient information management systems
  • Perform and analyze in-vivo and in-phantom measurements
  • Assess and plot radiation dose distributions
  • Provide treatment planning and dose-calculation services for patient treatment and diagnosis with external, interstitial, intracavitary, and distributed internal sources
  • Knowledge of the principles of radiation safety and Health Physics
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Certification by the American Board of Medical Dosimetry or CMD eligible
  • 3 years of full-time dosimetry experience
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of radiotherapy equipment
  • Proficient in external beam and brachytherapy treatment planning
  • Ability to perform and analyze in-vivo and in-phantom measurements
  • Knowledgeable of current radiotherapy treatment techniques
  • Ability to assess and plot radiation dose distributions
  • Knowledge of the principles of radiation safety and Health Physics
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics
What We Offer

UCLA Health offers a competitive salary range of $77.07 - $101.68 hourly for Senior Dosimetrist and $73.70 - $88.10 hourly for Dosimetrist. We also offer a collaborative and inclusive environment where healthcare professionals can thrive and make a meaningful impact.
