We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Industrial Hygienist to join our team at Terracon. As a key member of our environmental services group, you will be responsible for conducting site testing and making recommendations for systems design on medium-sized projects with complex features.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate sites to identify physical or environmental risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Perform field studies, including airborne chemical monitoring, noise monitoring, indoor air quality, asbestos surveys, and Phase I preliminary site assessments.
- Develop sampling strategies, research regulatory standards, and evaluate sampling results to prepare risk assessment reports and recommendations.
- Present findings and report recommendations to clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects, participating in pre-task planning and reporting any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects, implementing technical requirements to complete client projects, and directing and supervising field staff to sample, test, and collect data.
- Evaluate complex laboratory and field data, assembling written reports, and serving as a team member or lead in meetings and communications with clients.
- Oversee work performed by lower-level industrial hygienists, scientists, technicians, or engineers, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related science field.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in industrial hygiene or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is preferred.
