Student Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Student Aide to join our team at Haynes Family of Programs. As a Student Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting our educators in implementing individualized educational plans for students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Educators: Collaborate with educators to implement daily lesson plans, provide feedback, and contribute ideas to enhance student learning.
- Behavior Management: Observe and manage student behavior according to established procedures, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Progress Reporting: Regularly report student progress to educators, highlighting areas of strength and areas for improvement.
- Vocational Instruction: Provide vocational instruction to students, utilizing your expertise and knowledge to support their academic and personal growth.
- Special Programs: Participate in special programs, such as assemblies, plays, and cultural events, to promote student engagement and socialization.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to incidents and problems with students, utilizing crisis intervention skills to de-escalate situations and ensure student safety.
- Professional Development: Attend faculty meetings, in-service programs, and workshops to stay updated on best practices and Company policies.
- Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy environment for students, adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
- Student Support: Provide emotional support, guidance, and behavioral examples to students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Working Knowledge: Possess a working knowledge of child guidance principles, basic academic subjects, and safe practices in classroom activities.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and parents.
- Education: Hold a minimum of 48 college units, with a focus on child development, education, or a related field.
- Experience: Possess basic skills in working with children with disabilities or adolescents, typically acquired through two years of experience.
- Certifications: Ability to pass and utilize ProAct Training within one month of employment, as well as First Aid and CPR Certification within three months of employment.
- Teamwork: Demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a therapeutic team, supporting the philosophy of the school and Company.
