Love's College Intern Program

The Loves college internship initiative is widely recognized as one of the premier programs in Oklahoma City. This dynamic program offers students opportunities across various business sectors to gain real-world experience rather than merely performing menial tasks. Throughout the summer, interns at Loves will engage in a variety of enriching activities:

  • Explore diverse business operations
  • Participate in Q&A sessions with company executives
  • Engage in Greater Grads: InternOKC
  • Contribute to community service initiatives
  • Attend social networking events
  • Receive instructor-led training in both technical and soft skills
  • Benefit from a structured mentorship program
  • Obtain formal performance evaluations
  • Deliver a presentation to Loves leadership

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The main goal of this position is to support the accounting division in its daily financial operations for Loves and its affiliated entities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation of month-end financial statements
  • Record journal entries
  • Support auditors during their assessments
  • Contribute to various budgeting processes
  • Prepare reconciliations for balance sheets
  • Comprehend and document the company's control framework
  • Provide high-quality compliance and administrative assistance to the department
  • Complete various regulatory submissions
  • Collaborate with other departments and operational teams
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Currently enrolled in a four-year university program, at least a sophomore level (pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance)

Experience:

  • Previous internship experience is advantageous but not mandatory

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Skills:

  • Hard Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and completion of Accounting I and II coursework
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, with some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient for operating a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Normal range of hearing and vision is required
