About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Developer - GIS to join our team in Topeka, KS. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance for capturing, modeling, and analyzing geographical and tabular data to illustrate and determine spatial relationships as it pertains to client projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to a project team, including debugging others' code.
  • Develop software applications for engineering, environmental, and GIS.
  • Analyze and develop solutions to improve upon existing proprietary applications.
  • Work directly with the Topeka, KS office but must be comfortable working with multiple people in multiple locations.
  • Participate on the Information Technology (IT) Committee to manage and promote IT systems for the Kansas Operations.
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field (experience may be substituted for degree).
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of real-world application development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing solutions in C# and.NET.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new programming languages and frameworks.
  • Quickly pickup new technology and software packages.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per work and some overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ideal candidates will have experience developing custom software, applications, and plugins for ArcGIS and HEC-RAS software packages.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS software.
  • Familiarity with QGIS and OSGEO.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with HEC-RAS or SWMM software.
