Position Overview:


The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate care to patients at Hospice of Cincinnati, working under the guidance of a registered nurse.

The CNA will support patients with essential daily living activities, such as bathing, feeding, and mobility assistance, while also providing companionship and emotional support, particularly during challenging times.

This role requires adherence to safety protocols and established procedures to ensure a secure clinical environment.

Qualifications:

Completion of 2 years of High School Education in General Studies
Minimum age of 17 with a valid work permit
Successful completion of Home Health Aide competency skills checklist as mandated by Medicare regulations during orientation, including Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
STNA Certification or completion of Nursing Student Clinical Training is required, or consideration may be given to applicants willing to complete the STNA program upon hire
Experience in clinical settings and customer service

Key Responsibilities:
Assists with fundamental patient care tasks under the supervision of a nurse, including bathing, feeding, mobility assistance, and providing companionship and emotional support during difficult moments; adheres to regulatory and organizational protocols to foster a safe clinical environment
Effectively communicates with the interdisciplinary team, including patients and their families
Performs basic cleaning duties in and around patient living areas
Conducts quality checks on equipment and supplies, reporting any issues or malfunctions as necessary. Restocks supplies as required and monitors supply rooms, reporting any missing items.
Complies with documentation requirements to ensure accurate reporting of clinical interactions and patient status; demonstrates a basic understanding of technology for documentation purposes
