Clinical Nurse (RN) - Full-Time Position

As a Clinical Nurse (RN), you will operate under the guidance of the Wound Care Center Clinical Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator, primarily focusing on delivering patient care and managing intake and discharge procedures for patients within the Wound Care Center.

This role may also involve serving as a Case Manager for a designated group of Wound Care Center patients, depending on the specific setup of the center.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care to individuals in the Wound Care Center and oversee patient intake and discharge processes in accordance with established hospital and nursing standards.
  • Assist in the vein clinic as required, following completion of Healogics Vein Clinic training.
  • Potentially act as Case Manager for a group of assigned patients.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Conducting initial nursing assessments, sharing findings with the assigned physician, evaluating wound stages and measurements, documenting care plans, assessing patient status against desired outcomes, and identifying situations that necessitate intervention.
  • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives, providing education to patients or caregivers, and advocating for patients in the coordination and delivery of care.
  • Performing duties related to hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) as assigned, following successful completion of Healogics hyperbaric training.
  • May take on hyperbaric safety director responsibilities after completing the necessary training.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director, and the Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.
  • May serve as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in line with Healogics policy.
  • Carrying out additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Active RN license in the state of practice, to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Certification in Medical Surgical, Home Health, or Wound Care preferred.
  • Experience in wound care is preferred.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven competency in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of regulatory and accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in an understandable manner.
  • Strong customer service and follow-up skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Teaching abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with computerized nursing systems.
