As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator plays a crucial role in the management and coordination of clinical activities within the surgical unit. This position is designed for experienced registered nurses who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the department director and manager by overseeing clinical operations and ensuring high standards of care.
- Act as a liaison between physicians and nursing staff to enhance communication and teamwork.
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment to ensure quality care delivery to patients.
- Facilitate collaboration among unit staff and other departments to promote a cohesive work environment.
- Provide input on staff performance and development, contributing to coaching and mentoring initiatives.
- Maintain accountability for addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
- Serve as a role model for ethical and professional nursing practices.
- Participate actively in patient care as a registered nurse, adapting to unit needs and patient acuity.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (or equivalent) is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Current RN License to practice in the relevant state is mandatory.
- A minimum of one year of direct clinical experience as a Registered Nurse is essential.
- Nursing Specialty Certification is advantageous.
Work Environment:
This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced surgical unit, emphasizing teamwork and professional growth. The schedule includes three 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends.
