The Clinical Registered Nurse – specializing in Wellness and Immunization operates in various settings, either remotely or in clinical environments, to address the health and wellness needs of a designated population. This role requires the Registered Nurse to demonstrate effective clinical judgment to deliver quality care in alignment with the facility's established policies and protocols. The diverse locations include community immunization clinics, wellness centers, job safety and workers' compensation sites, as well as travel health clinics catering to all age groups from pediatric to geriatric.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' health status, gauge health risks, and provide constructive feedback to encourage positive behavioral changes.
  • Identify and prioritize care actions based on patient needs.
  • Execute interventions according to established priorities, care plans, and clinic policies.
  • Ensure a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients.
  • Initiate educational discussions with patients and their families when appropriate.
  • Document patient responses to nursing care and interventions, along with follow-up recommendations.
  • Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the clinical environment and equipment.
  • Possess a solid understanding of universal precautions.
  • Familiarity with protocols for reporting adverse reactions, incidents, and injuries.
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation assessments and reporting as necessary.
  • Understanding of immunization and vaccine schedules and safety protocols.
  • Administer vaccines and medications according to site protocols.
  • Properly store, transport, and handle vaccines.
  • Safely transport biological materials, sharps, and other essential supplies to clinical sites.
  • Manage and dispose of biological waste appropriately.
  • Complete necessary participant consent forms and maintain clinic records.
  • Input data into the client database in compliance with policy and state regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse License for the practicing state.
  • Preferred: One year of nursing experience in a clinical or immunization setting.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification if required.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray as applicable.
  • Current health certificate as per contract or state regulations.
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training relevant to the job site.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information to various stakeholders; proficiency in English is essential.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
