Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Transport Coordinator to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a key member of our dispatch team, you will play a critical role in coordinating the deployment of personnel and equipment in our medical transport network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to ensure seamless patient movement and medical center operations.
  • Maintain safety as a primary role throughout all aspects of transport team resource coordination and multi-mode tracking of transport assets.
  • Identify potential areas for improved care and contribute to the development of self and others within the department.
  • Perform mission-critical tasks in support of patient care, emergency response, and multi-departmental support.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Communications center experience and/or basic dispatcher course/dispatch experience preferred.
  • Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
Physical Demands

The job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequent typing/traveling, and multi-tasking activities. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are essential, as well as attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. The ability to lift/push/pull > 20lbs is also required.
