Join Our Team as a Day Habilitation Specialist

At ACLD, we are committed to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Day Habilitation Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

As a Day Habilitation Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our program participants in achieving their personal goals and becoming self-sufficient. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing structure and emotional support to program participants
  • Assisting with personal hygiene and daily living skills
  • Helping participants resolve behavioral issues and achieve their personal goals
  • Completing accurate and detailed documentation
  • Transporting participants to and from volunteer and pre-vocational activities

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A clean, valid NYS Driver's license
  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • Some experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (training provided)
  • The ability to assist with lifting and transferring adults
  • Prior experience as a Caregiver, Care Assistant, or similar role is an asset

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Salary Range:

Competitive hourly rate with some programs/locations offering a differential
