California Weekly Explorer is recognized across California's elementary schools for our unique "Walk Through Presentations." These interactive sessions captivate students as they immerse themselves in their history curriculum, taking on roles as historical figures or experts. A talented presenter leads students through an engaging journey while fostering a friendly competition that allows students to earn points and achieve victory. With over 35 years of excellence in education, California Weekly Explorer has successfully conducted over 300 presentations per school year. We pride ourselves on being the leaders in delivering enjoyable educational experiences. Part-time opportunities (2-3 days a week) are also available.

Responsibilities of Educational Engagement Specialists:

California Weekly Explorer is in search of a full-time Educational Engagement Specialist who will bring history to life for students on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students, a love for education, and a willingness to travel and embrace new experiences, all while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students and educators.
  • Memorize and deliver three distinct scripts
  • Conduct up to two presentations daily, each lasting 2.5 hours
  • Commute to various schools within a large geographic area
  • Make 3-5 trips outside your regular calendar area each school year
  • Safely store all necessary presentation equipment
  • Set up and dismantle presentation displays daily
  • Utilize the online company calendar for school-related information
  • Handle all travel arrangements and preparations
  • Complete reports, including monthly expense reports and evaluations of schools
Qualifications for Educational Engagement Specialists:
  • Experience in teaching or performance; classroom management and improvisation skills are advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Commitment to a full-time, five-day work schedule with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • A reliable vehicle capable of transporting all necessary equipment
  • A safe living environment with adequate storage for equipment
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background check
