Job Summary:

UT Health San Antonio seeks an experienced and skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse III - Complex Surgical to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, lead unit and shared governance activities, and serve as a clinical resource for both unit and hospital staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional direct patient care to a diverse population and function at the proficient level.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities with high-level contributions at the bedside, unit, service line, and across the institution.
  • Lead unit and shared governance activities, including developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for both unit and hospital staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Coordinate unit and hospital-wide education in partnership with management.
  • Assist in coaching and mentoring department staff in clinical and professional practice areas.
  • Role model compassionate communication with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
  • Experience in a leadership or charge nurse role preferred.
