Job Overview

Fluidra North America is looking for a Windows Systems Engineer to become a vital part of our IT department.

Key Responsibilities

The Windows Systems Engineer will be responsible for the hands-on management of our enterprise Microsoft Windows system infrastructure. This includes supporting the implementation of systems related to Microsoft Azure & M365, VMware, Tanium, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), SAN storage, Backup/Recovery, and Server/Application Monitoring Tools. Your duties will encompass:

  • Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Windows Server, including both software and hardware aspects.
  • Designing and implementing virtualization solutions using VMware/VXRail.
  • Utilizing Tanium for patch management and maintenance of server and endpoint environments.
  • Ensuring server environment stability through the use of monitoring tools and applying tested patches.
  • Performing database administration tasks, including configuration management, backup/recovery, performance optimization, and space management.
  • Participating in infrastructure design and implementation planning.
  • Leading infrastructure projects and managing project tasks as necessary.
  • Handling multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Documenting routine tasks, incidents, change management schedules, and database policies.
  • Maintaining inventory and asset configuration documentation in Tanium.
  • Engaging with customers, management, and staff on a technical level as required.
  • Serving as the technical authority in server systems administration and management.
  • Monitoring system performance, network, and storage utilization.
  • Providing support for escalated help desk requests through Service Now.
  • Enhancing and updating new systems and deployment strategies.
  • Creating and maintaining PowerShell scripts to boost operational efficiency.
  • Conducting troubleshooting as necessary and collaborating with other teams and vendors.
  • Demonstrating experience and knowledge of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
  • Cross-training and mentoring other IT team members on specialized skills.
  • Executing tasks as directed by management.
  • Providing after-hours support for infrastructure maintenance and emergencies.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic or international).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a senior-level Windows System Administrator.
  • Proven ability to work in collaborative environments.
  • In-depth understanding of Windows server trends and best practices.
  • Expertise in system security, audit compliance, clustering, and standards implementation.
  • Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Tanium administration is advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills are essential.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, middleware, or storage).

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
