About the RoleThe Curriculum Director will serve as the primary curricular and instructional leader on campus, responsible for ensuring the ongoing delivery of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with our philosophy of quality education and care. This role will also involve training new teachers on our child-centered, inquiry-based approach, coaching faculty members, and leading professional development as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of children from birth to 5 years old
- Train and support new teachers in our child-centered, inquiry-based approach
- Coach faculty members to ensure high-quality instruction and care
- Lead professional development sessions to enhance teacher skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with the Head of School to ensure the smooth operation of the school
- Serve as a resource to families and provide support as needed
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in early childhood education
- NYS Initial or Permanent Teaching Certification (birth to 2) preferred
- Expertise in emergent- or inquiry-based curricula and a progressive approach to early childhood education
- Exceptional leadership skills, including the ability to define goals and motivate staff towards success
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Demonstrated competency with digital tools such as Google Suite, Brightwheel, etc.
