Position Overview
SAIC is in search of skilled and security-cleared engineering professionals to contribute to Operational Evaluation within the Air Force's Air Operations Center (AOC) Falconer Weapon System team. This role necessitates a solid background in technical engineering and systems/network administration, along with a proven track record in systems engineering and operational testing. Familiarity with AOC mission planning and scheduling processes, tools, and applications, as well as configuration management principles, is essential for maintaining and advancing the AOC baseline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop automated testing solutions utilizing industry-standard tools such as UFT One, Visual Basic programming, VB script language, and SQL for creating and maintaining test drivers and scripts across various interfaces and applications.
- Organize and execute functional tests, report errors and issues to development teams for resolution, retest corrected code, and monitor defect status.
- Work collaboratively with manual testing teams to ensure that testing solutions align with business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Evaluate system functionality following critical security updates to confirm that modifications do not introduce unforeseen bugs or issues.
- Enhance and maintain the existing test automation framework, which includes functional libraries and object repositories.
- Document and communicate test progress and outcomes effectively.
- Continuously improve skills to implement the most innovative solutions for enhancing testing capabilities.
- Exhibit strong prioritization skills to manage and complete tasks while handling multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Demonstrate high motivation, independent problem-solving abilities, and commitment to task completion.
- Contribute as part of a high-performance team focused on meeting stringent schedule requirements.
- Possess experience in agile development methodologies.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related engineering discipline, or a STEM field, with 9 years of relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active Secret clearance is required.
Minimum Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a minimum of 4 of the following areas:
- Experience collaborating with Scrum/Agile software delivery teams.
- Over 2 years of test automation experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of VB Scripting language.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with test stories and acceptance criteria within the JIRA environment.
- Proficiency in Confluence and MS Excel, including the application of Excel formulas for calculations.
- Experience with UFT and/or similar technologies, strong programming skills in Visual Basic and C#, and knowledge of database queries for data retrieval and validation.
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in technical documentation, configuration, and operational processes.
- Understanding of AOC, its mission, and systems related to the current Block 10 baseline.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel, including the use of Excel formulas for calculations.
