Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Development Engineer to join our team at Metal Powder Products LLC. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for championing process development, product launch, and continual improvement projects in our manufacturing department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead process improvement and cost reduction projects in manufacturing, focusing on optimizing existing processes and implementing new technologies.
  • Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing departments, providing expertise on existing products and processes.
  • Explore, engineer, and implement new manufacturing technologies for part production, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Use problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and implement preventive/corrective actions, minimizing downtime and improving overall efficiency.
  • Recommend and assist in developing processes for new component production, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.
  • Actively lead problem-solving efforts to resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on production.
  • Work to optimize existing processes, focusing on cost reduction and process efficiency.
  • Assist in developing and modifying initial routing and process instructions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, including prints, operation sheets, and other relevant materials, via our engineering change system.
  • Travel as required to perform the objectives of this function, representing the company in a professional manner.
  • Participate and support our company's Six Sigma initiatives, driving process improvements and reducing variability.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed, to meet business demands.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Engineering or Technology, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of machining, inspection, and process development.
  • Ideal candidate would be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work well independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to identify problems and present optimal solutions.
  • Working knowledge of computers and engineering mathematics, with the ability to apply technical knowledge to solve problems.
Physical Demands
  • Individual must be physically and mentally able to perform the job demands, including standing, walking, balancing, and other physical activities.
  • Position requires working with multi-disciplinary teams and process improvement in all departments and aspects of the business.
  • Position requires the ability to interface equally well with individuals and groups working in all areas of the process.
Safety Requirements
  • When required in specific areas, safety glasses, glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and gloves are necessary.
