POSITION: Nutrition and Wellness Specialist

REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Nutrition and Education Programs

We are in search of a full-time Nutrition and Wellness Specialist to support our community initiatives.

ROLE OVERVIEW: The Nutrition and Wellness Specialist will play a vital role in the execution of various educational programs aimed at enhancing the well-being of diverse populations. The responsibilities include:
  1. Implementing nutrition education and physical activity initiatives for underserved communities.
  2. Facilitating social-emotional learning programs tailored for adolescents.
  3. Providing education on reproductive health that focuses on developing essential life skills and informed decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Design and deliver educational sessions across multiple environments.
  2. Ensure that educational materials are presented in accordance with established guidelines.
  3. Create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
  4. Foster partnerships with community organizations to improve program outreach and impact.
  5. Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders.
  6. Lead initiatives and offer technical support based on community needs.
  7. Utilize indirect channels for program delivery.
  8. Complete necessary documentation and data management within specified timelines.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service and assist in participant recruitment as needed.
  10. Collaborate with fellow educators to exchange innovative ideas.
  11. Travel to various locations as required.
  12. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

  10. Availability for after-school and weekend programming.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, nutrition, or a related discipline is required. Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for developing and assessing educational programs are essential. Experience in youth education and public health is preferred. A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are necessary, as travel is a regular component of this role.
