Nuclear Medicine Technologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures and assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform imaging procedures using nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment, including SPECT/CT or PET/CT scanners.
- Prepare and administer dosages of radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
- Position patients for scanning and operate nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment.
- Ensure radiation safety and quality control procedures are followed, including disposal of radioactive materials and monitoring work areas and patient rooms.
- Assist physicians in all aspects of procedures in the assigned area.
- Provide a safe and positive experience for patients.
- Support teaching and continued learning as technology changes.
- Associate's Degree from an approved two-year AMA Nuclear Medicine School.
- 4-6 years of related experience.
- Independently able to perform tasks and support inexperienced NMTs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, communicate effectively, and perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle complex patient situations.
- Positive leadership skills and ability to act as a resource, mentor, and preceptor.
This role requires the ability to work in a dynamic environment with varying levels of noise, hazards, and temperature changes.
