Position Overview
The Sourcing and Procurement Analyst, under moderate supervision, plays a crucial role in managing the daily purchasing operations of the organization, aligning with production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute procurement of materials and supplies to fulfill organizational goals.
- Prioritize purchasing activities based on lead times and expedite assembly/build processes to adhere to schedules.
- Review engineering and costed Bill of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy in purchasing data.
- Procure shop supplies weekly for various departments.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure adherence to timelines.
- Support make-or-buy decisions through comprehensive cost analyses.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address non-conformance issues and request root cause analyses from vendors.
- Assist in outsourcing initiatives, supplier qualification, and selection processes.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and long-term agreements with suppliers.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to facilitate the purchasing and production of prototype BOMs.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding shortages, delays, or component obsolescence.
- Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure compliance with billing and taxation regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or Finance.
- A minimum of 4 years of procurement experience in a relevant industry, preferably in Military and Aircraft sectors.
- Experience with AS9100 standards and previous aerospace industry exposure is essential.
- Strong knowledge of various commodities, materials, and specifications (mechanical, electrical, 3D printing, PCBs, cable harnesses, connectors).
- Proven experience in sourcing, supplier development, assessment, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Experience in managing supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and QuickBooks is required.
- Familiarity with general maintenance methods, operational requirements, and safety protocols related to facilities management.
- Strong initiative, proactive thinking, and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Exceptional organizational, follow-through, and time management capabilities.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
