The City of Oceanside is seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist to join our team. As a GIS Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the City's geographic information systems (GIS) program, providing technical expertise and assistance to various departments and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain GIS databases, maps, and applications to support the City's GIS program.
- Provide technical assistance and training to City staff on GIS software and applications.
- Conduct spatial analysis and data visualization to support decision-making and planning efforts.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and prioritize GIS projects and initiatives.
- Develop and implement GIS policies and procedures to ensure data quality and consistency.
- 2+ years of experience in GIS, including experience with GIS software and applications.
- Associate's degree in geography, GIS, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with ESRI software and applications.
- Knowledge of spatial analysis and data visualization techniques.
- Experience with GIS data management and quality control.
- Ability to work with large datasets and perform complex spatial analysis.
