About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at Oakmont Senior Living. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our senior living community's physical plant, including maintenance, repairs, and housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and direct the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the physical plant, including the interior and exterior of the community.
  • Oversee the general operations of the maintenance department and housekeeping department to ensure that the property is maintained in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner in accordance with property policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate mechanical ability and/or capability of self-teaching to work on equipment such as washer/extractors and dryers, refrigeration and heating units, ice machines, minor plumbing, and minor electrical difficulties.
  • Perform electrical duties, including troubleshooting, identifying problems, and obtaining materials to fully repair electrical difficulties.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the property's outside grounds and immediately correct any needed items to ensure the property is always tour-ready.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in the building industry, maintenance, and/or housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and structural matters.
  • Knowledge of building construction is helpful.
  • Able to safely operate a wide variety of equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia care.
  • Able to work with seniors and patiently interact with cognitively impaired individuals.
  • Able to be flexible, adapt, and respond to change, make decisions in stressful situations, and prioritize tasks and projects.
