Job Overview

Position Summary

The Loan Condition Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Junior Underwriting Team by managing daily operations, which include making both outbound and inbound calls to ensure timely follow-ups on Homeowner's Insurance (HOI), Title, Utility Bills, and coordinating closing schedules. This position also involves liaising with borrowers to collect any outstanding documents necessary for final approval, ensuring that all information within the file is precise and current.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Junior Underwriter to track down necessary items for final approval from borrowers on VA IRRRL and FHA Streamline files.
  • Proactively follows up on any missing services ordered for the loan file, including HOI and title.
  • Uploads received documents to VA IRRRL and FHA Streamline files and notifies the Junior Underwriter of any updates.
  • Assists with additional tasks assigned by the Junior Underwriter to facilitate the closing of loan files.
  • Orders Secure Insight reports and confirms the wiring instructions from the title company.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Experience

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the mortgage sector is essential.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with mortgage loan documents, loan origination software, and underwriting standards.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Organized with the capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in PC skills, particularly with MS Office applications, and experience with mortgage origination systems, preferably Encompass.

Work Environment

This role is typically conducted in a standard office setting. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While executing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to maintain consistent attendance, communicate effectively with others, and frequently engage in standing, walking, sitting, and using hands and fingers to reach, handle, or touch.
