Position Overview

Aptive Resources is in search of a committed and meticulous Culinary Service Associate to provide support within a healthcare setting. The Culinary Service Associate will undertake a variety of responsibilities associated with meal preparation, serving, and sanitation, ensuring that patients receive nutritious meals in a hygienic and safe atmosphere. This role is vital in upholding the standards of the healthcare facility and delivering exceptional service to those in care.

Various shifts are available, detailed as follows:

Shift A: 6:00am-2:30pm daily, off Mondays and Tuesdays

Shift B: 6:00am-2:30pm daily, off Wednesdays and Thursdays

Shift C: 6:00am-2:30pm daily, off Fridays and Saturdays

Shift D: 11:00am-7:30pm daily, off Mondays and Tuesdays

Shift E: 11:00am-7:30pm daily, off Thursdays and Fridays

Shift F: 11:00am-7:30pm daily, off Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Shift G: 11:30am-3:30pm daily, off Sundays, Thursdays, and Fridays

Key Responsibilities

Essential Skills:

Strong attention to detail and adherence to health and safety regulations. Outstanding customer service abilities, particularly in patient interactions. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Core Duties

Prepare various stations on the central serving line with all necessary food and non-food items for meal service. Clean and organize assigned areas, returning items to their designated locations post-service. Serve meals cafeteria-style to patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring a high level of customer service. Set up service areas with condiments, utensils, and glassware for dining. Deliver food and beverages to tables, replenishing as needed while maintaining professionalism. Load and transport food carts to patient care areas. Distribute meal trays and snacks to specified locations or directly to patients, demonstrating compassion and respect. Collect used trays and return them to the dishwashing area for processing. Assemble salads and cold sandwiches from prepped ingredients and prepare box lunches. Conduct cold food preparation and assemble menu items such as entrees, sides, desserts, and beverages. Operate and maintain the dishwasher, ensuring cleanliness and functionality. Perform thorough cleaning of kitchen equipment and areas, including heavy-duty cleaning tasks. Maintain cleanliness in walk-in refrigerators and freezers. Assist with unloading food deliveries and organizing supplies in storage areas. Carry out additional related tasks as assigned to support culinary operations. Help the culinary staff in the ingredient control area as needed. Dispose of kitchen waste in designated receptacles.

Required Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in food service or a related field is preferred. Ability to follow directions and work both independently and as part of a team. Strong commitment to cleanliness and attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with patients and staff. Physical capability to perform tasks requiring extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to pass any required background checks.
