Job Summary

The Fire Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for installing and maintaining fire sprinkler systems in newly constructed structures and renovations to existing structures with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut, fabricate, and install steel and CPVC pipe as designed for fire sprinkler systems.
  • Install and hang a variety of pipe, sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, hangers, and other fire protection components in accordance with blueprints and construction documents.
  • Install and trim valves for wet, dry, and pre-action fire protection systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents to ensure sprinkler systems are constructed as designed.
  • Ensure all work areas remain clean, safe, and orderly while working and at the end of the workday.
  • Clean, inspect, and service required tools in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and supplies are secured and accounted for while on the job site and prior to the end of the workday.
  • Report to field foreman on progress and/or job-related problems on a daily basis.
  • Assist in the training of sprinkler apprentices.
  • Understand and follow FLSA's Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 3-5 years' experience installing pipe systems and valves, required.
  • Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Construction experience, preferred.
  • Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, customer service skills, decision-making skills, ability to multitask, ability to meet project schedules, ability to plan and organize, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to train others, required.
