About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished HIM Director of Coding to join our team at TAL Healthcare. As a leader in medical coding operations, you will be responsible for managing a team of coders, developing coding policies, and collaborating with various departments to optimize coding practices.

Estimated Salary: $160,000 - $220,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the medical coding team to achieve optimal performance and quality.
  • Develop and maintain coding policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments, revenue cycle teams, and leadership to improve coding efficiency and compliance.
  • Analyze coding data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risk areas.
  • Presentation regular reports on coding accuracy, compliance, and productivity to senior leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management (HIM), Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in medical coding, including at least 7-10 years in a leadership role.
  • Certifications from AHIMA, ACDIS, AAPC, and other professional organizations.
  • Strong critical thinking, data, financial, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
