Position Summary:
Sovah Health is seeking a qualified individual to fulfill essential receptionist, registration, and administrative responsibilities related to patient admissions, both scheduled and unscheduled. The role involves welcoming patients, gathering necessary demographic and financial details, securing required signatures, and processing payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate collection and entry of all relevant demographic, billing, and clinical data into the registration system.
- Provide patients and their families with necessary forms, documents, and educational materials.
- Engage with patients and caregivers to exchange vital information and documentation, clarifying processes and addressing any inquiries.
- Coordinate with the admitting physician's office, nursing staff, and other relevant personnel to facilitate admissions and determine appropriate placements.
- Manage appointment scheduling and communicate any changes to relevant departments and colleagues.
- Verify insurance coverage and confirm necessary authorizations or pre-certifications.
- Review physician orders for completeness and compliance, ensuring all required tests and prior authorizations are accounted for.
- Handle financial estimations, oversee upfront collections, process payments, establish payment plans, and assess patients' ability to pay, escalating issues as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of CPT & ICD10 coding, along with knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care Payers.
- Typing speed of at least 30 WPM with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capability to function effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Medium-level critical thinking skills.
- Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple areas of Patient Access and to work in the Emergency Department as needed.
- Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous patient care.
Experience: One to two years of customer service and/or healthcare experience is preferred.
