About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead the Design for X (DFx) initiative for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program at Lockheed Martin. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing DFx plans and processes across the entire product life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement DFx plans and processes for the FBM program
  • Collaborate with production, assembly, test, and field support organizations to establish robust DFx objectives and requirements
  • Manage the integration of DFx objectives and requirements into product development activities
  • Partner with product development teams to report out on DFx activities
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering or product design
  • Experience working as a member of a product development team with a systematic approach to design for manufacturing or test
  • Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Demonstrated experience developing successful program and/or product improvements plans
  • DoD or other government agency customer experience
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of Lockheed Martin's structure, programs, and command media
  • Experience leading development activities through major design reviews
  • FBM customer familiarity
  • Familiarity with FBM production, assembly, and test
  • Reliability and/or quality engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience with model-based engineering tools and approaches
  • Demonstrated experience with leading and executing trade studies
  • Demonstrated capability to work with other companies and cross-functional teams
  • Active Top Secret clearance
