Job Title: Host

At the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, we are seeking a friendly and welcoming Host to join our team. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for all who visit our venue.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and greet arriving guests, ensuring a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • Seat guests at tables, manage reservations, and maintain a smooth flow of operations.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any requests, providing assistance and support as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of Straz Center menus and products, making recommendations to guests as required.
  • Handle cash accurately, operating a point-of-sale system with ease.
  • Maintain clean service and dining areas, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Be ready and willing to assist servers as situations arise, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
  • Complete daily paperwork neatly and accurately, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work with a schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Customer service skills and experience, with a focus on providing exceptional service to guests.
  • Be able to work in a stand-up position for long periods of time (minimum 5 hours).
  • Prior experience as a Host in a full-service, high-volume restaurant is preferred, but not required.
