Job Description

BlueHalo is seeking a highly skilled Flight Termination System (FTS)/Range Safety Lead to support the MDA Targets and Countermeasures Engineering Directorate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Requirements Development: Assist in the development and verification of flight termination system and range safety requirements for targets.
  • Hardware and Software Development: Oversee the development, acceptance, qualification, integration, and checkout of GFE and CFE hardware and software.
  • Investigations and Review Boards: Provide expert advice on product and component failure investigations and review boards.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare summary level and detailed level reports to document status, findings, and recommendations.
  • Representative: Represent the interests of the customer in Working Groups and Technical Interchange Meetings.
Requirements:
  • Education: Master of Science or Master of Arts degree and 12+ years of experience in missile defense-related or complex DoD programs, or a BA/BS degree with 20+ years of experience.
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Leadership: Ability to work independently and/or lead teams to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Supervision: Provide daily supervision and direction to support teams.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of Missile Range Safety Requirements.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Range Tracking Systems, RCC-319 Flight Termination Commonality Standard, and RCC-324 Global Positioning and Inertial Measurements Range Safety Tracking Systems Commonality Standard.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Autonomous Flight Termination Systems: Familiarity with autonomous flight termination systems.
  • Flight Test Range Safety: Experience in flight test range safety.
  • Defense and Aerospace: 15+ years of experience in defense and aerospace.
  • Missile Defense System: Knowledge of the Missile Defense System and the MDA Targets and Countermeasures Program.
  • Technical Background: Background in batteries, RF systems, ordnance, and ordnance devices, antennas.
