Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled FTS/Range Safety Lead to support the MDA Targets and Countermeasures Engineering Directorate. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the successful development and integration of flight termination systems, range safety requirements, and hardware and software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and verify requirements for targets flight termination systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the development, integration, and acceptance of hardware and software solutions, ensuring seamless system performance.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on failure investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Generate comprehensive reports to document status and recommendations, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Represent the customer's interests in meetings and discussions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Perform additional assigned duties as required, contributing to the success of the team and the organization.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Master's degree with 12+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree with 20+ years in a related field, such as aerospace engineering or systems integration.
  • Active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain higher clearance levels as required.
  • Proven experience in missile range safety requirements, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in range tracking systems and safety standards, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with autonomous flight termination systems, with a strong understanding of system design and integration.
  • Flight test range safety background, with a proven track record of ensuring safe and successful testing.
  • Extensive defense and aerospace experience, with a strong understanding of industry trends and technologies.
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense System and MDA Targets and Countermeasures Program, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Background in batteries, RF systems, and antennas, with a strong understanding of system design and integration.
