Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse II - Cardiovascular Operating Room position at Stanford Children's Health | Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is a critical role in providing exceptional patient care in a pediatric cardiovascular surgical setting. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients and their families, while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on care to patients, practicing in an evidence-based manner, within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies.
  • Assess patients, interpret data, plan, implement, and evaluate care, coordinate care with other providers, and teach patients and families the knowledge and skills needed to manage their care and prevent complications.
  • Collaborate with the patient, family, and members of the healthcare team to develop an individualized plan of care.
  • Implement nursing and medical interventions safely, evaluate effectiveness, and monitor patients for adverse responses and side effects.
  • Assess patients' and families' learning needs and readiness to learn, teach needed information for self-care and illness prevention, and adjust information and expectations based on responses from patients, developmental levels, physiological and psychological condition, and cultural variations.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Prefer BSN.
  • 2 years experience as an Operating Room RN, Scrub and Circulate. Pediatric experience (Preferred).
  • Current California RN License, Current AHA Healthcare Provider BCLS and PALS certification.
