Core duties and responsibilities encompass the following:

  • Prepare a variety of food items according to established recipes and menu specifications, including vegetables, meats, and seafood, utilizing various cooking methods and equipment.
  • Ensure proper presentation and portion control for all plated dishes.
  • Maintain accurate temperature controls, food storage practices, and food rotation protocols.
  • Adhere to company policies, cooking methods, standard portion sizes, and quality assurance measures.
  • Ensure that kitchen stations are adequately stocked to facilitate seamless service.
  • Portion food items before cooking in accordance with specified recipes and portion sizes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with food servers regarding ticket times and ensure prompt service to guests.
  • Properly store and manage food products following all relevant guidelines and procedures.
  • Assist with food preparation during slower periods as needed.
  • Follow kitchen closing procedures and assist team members in closing tasks.
  • Engage in employee meetings and contribute suggestions for operational improvements.
