Cytotechnologist (PRN/ Intermittent) Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist (PRN/ Intermittent) to join our team in the Laboratory Services department at Denver Health. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis of diseases by examining cellular samples under a microscope.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high complexity cytology procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Examine cellular samples under a microscope to detect abnormalities in cell shape, color, or size.
  • Work closely with pathologists to arrive at a final diagnosis.
  • Conduct research activities, consumer and patient education, and teaching.
  • Handle day-to-day bench-related problems with little supervision.
  • Provide training and mentoring to technical staff.
  • Maintain quality control and maintenance records.
  • Resolve problems with test analysis and consult with supervisors as needed.
Requirements:
  • Post-high school diploma or certificate program in Cytotechnology from an accredited institution.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience as a Cytotechnologist in an accredited hospital.
  • CTASCP-Cytotechnologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
  • Proficiency in Hospital Information System, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
