PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Collaborate with the Guest Services Supervisor to develop and implement cleaning policies and objectives that prioritize safety and efficiency within the facility.

Guide, mentor, and lead a team of up to 15 staff members, ensuring they maintain high morale and understand their vital role in enhancing the guest experience.

Conduct evaluations and reviews of team member performance to ensure compliance with departmental standards, including performance tracking.
Assist management in fostering a motivated and productive team environment.
Ensure positive relations with guests and employees at all times, promoting satisfaction and safety for all.

Maintain awareness of aquarium activities and operations, enabling effective responses to guest inquiries.

Address comments, complaints, and suggestions from guests and staff, escalating issues to management as necessary.
Create and uphold an atmosphere of friendliness, professionalism, and service excellence to guarantee guest satisfaction.
Manage inventory levels of necessary supplies and assist in procurement processes.
Provide onboarding and continuous training for team members to ensure familiarity with aquarium operations.
Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor, maintaining a well-groomed appearance at all times.
Demonstrate self-motivation to work independently while remaining disciplined, reliable, and accountable.
Perform all duties associated with House and Grounds personnel, including but not limited to mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and wall cleaning.
Execute other related tasks as assigned by the Guest Services management team.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Experience in industrial cleaning is advantageous.
Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is beneficial.
Ability to read, write, and speak English is required (knowledge of additional languages is a plus).
Must demonstrate clear thinking and the ability to react swiftly and calmly in emergency situations.
Strong time management and organizational skills are essential; ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Must handle confidential information with discretion.
First Aid, CPR, AED, BBP, and Emergency Response training is preferred or willingness to obtain training.
Ability to interpret various instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.

Willingness to accept guidance and coaching from experienced staff to enhance skills and improve guest experiences.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.

Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining courteous, friendly, and helpful to guests and fellow staff members at all times.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is required.
Must be in good health and capable of performing strenuous physical tasks.
No history of allergies to animals or plants that could hinder job performance.
Ability to remain on feet for extended periods, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, and turn.
Physical strength is necessary, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Immunocompetence is required due to potential exposure to infections and parasitic diseases.
