Job Description

Clarapath is a medical robotics company based in Westchester County, NY, dedicated to transforming laboratory workflows and improving patient care. We are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our innovative electro-mechanical system, SectionStarTM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electro-mechanical systems and assemblies, including electrical and mechanical components
  • Create detailed drawings for parts and assemblies using CAD software
  • Build and assemble prototypes, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance criteria
  • Assemble precision components and wire harnesses, and program automated functionalities
  • Design and build test fixtures, including integrating data acquisition systems and programming for automated testing and data collection
  • Perform dynamic system modeling, kinematic modeling, and conduct structural and thermal analysis to validate and optimize design components
  • Conduct testing of electro-mechanical systems, identify issues, and assist in troubleshooting and debugging
  • Analyze test data and provide insights to improve system performance and reliability
  • Assist in creating technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Fundamental knowledge of electrical circuits, mechanical design principles, and control systems
  • Basic understanding of electronic components, sensors, and actuators
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and modeling
  • Experience with 3D printing and other additive manufacturing techniques for creating prototypes and parts
  • Proficient in CNC machining, sheet-metal fabrication, and other manufacturing techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to project goals
