Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in the organization and management of case files, including the upkeep of document databases and electronic records.
- Prepare legal documents such as standard pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; ensure proper filing of motions and pleadings in accordance with judicial protocols.
- Conduct research and analysis of statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal materials; provide written summaries and analyses to attorneys.
- Assist in trial preparation by creating trial exhibits, compiling witness lists, and coordinating logistics for court appearances.
- Schedule witness interviews and inform them of trial dates; in some instances, the paralegal may be tasked with conducting initial interviews.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree is required.
- Preferred: Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program.
- A minimum of four years of experience as a paralegal is required.
- Strong project and case management skills, with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- This position may involve some transactional work related to real estate and corporate matters, as well as environmental and regulatory issues.
