Behavioral Support Specialist - Intensive

Are you passionate about psychology, mental health, developmental disabilities, early intervention, or child development? If so, you might be an ideal fit for RCS Learning Center. At RCS, you will have the opportunity to enhance your expertise and experience in the human services sector and the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This role is both challenging and immensely fulfilling.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:00PM at our Learning Center.

RCS is seeking skilled professionals who are comfortable working with individuals exhibiting intensive behavioral challenges. Our clientele is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ranges from ages 6 to 22. Staff members working with these individuals will receive training and must be prepared to utilize restraint and hold techniques, as instructed through SOLVE. Experience in de-escalating severe behaviors that require multiple staff interventions is highly desirable. We value candidates who are organized, dedicated to quality care, and eager to learn how to positively impact a child's life.

Candidates for our intensive program should be prepared to handle:

  • Self-injurious behaviors,
  • Aggression,
  • Bolting, and
  • Inappropriate social behaviors.

Key Focus Areas for Student Development:

  • Communication skills,
  • Social skills,
  • Activities of daily living (e.g., personal hygiene and toileting),
  • Vocational skills,
  • Adaptive physical education, and
  • Self-preservation techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Enjoy working with children aged 6-22 years.
  • Comfortable supporting students with severe behavioral challenges.
  • Punctual, reliable, and eager to learn.
  • Interest in Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, human services, special education, social work, childcare, or related fields.
  • Preferably pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree.
  • RBT certification is preferred.
  • Candidates with a high school diploma will also be considered.
  • Experience as a babysitter, nanny, paraprofessional, tutor, camp counselor, or coach is advantageous.
  • Able to provide a transcript.
